Senior Mechanical Static Engineer, Oil & Gas.

Role

A Senior Mechanical Static Engineer is responsible for the design, Detailing and Drafting of static mechanical equipment.

This includes:

· Perform design and engineering of static equipment such as pressure vessels, shell & tube heat exchangers, air coolers, storage tanks, and columns.

· Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and evaluation of vendor offers.

· Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.

· Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, PED, EN, TEMA).

· Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (process, piping, structural, etc.) and ensure alignment across deliverables.

· Support procurement, fabrication, inspection, and construction activities.

· Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical meetings with clients and vendors.

· Conduct technical evaluations and resolve technical queries from vendors and site teams.

· Provide input to project scheduling and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering

·      Develop and review mechanical design specifications for static equipment.

·      Ensure designs comply with international codes (e.g., ASME, API, PED).

·      Perform mechanical calculations (wall thickness, nozzle loads, etc.).

Project Execution

·      Experienced in Basic, FEED and detailed engineering phases.

·      Oversee vendor document reviews and ensure compliance with project specs.

·      Coordinate with other disciplines (process, piping, civil, etc.).

Leadership & Mentoring

·      Guide junior engineers.

·      Serve as a technical authority on static equipment issues.

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s /master’s degree in mechanical engineering.

·      8–15+ years of relevant industry experience.

·      Professional certifications (e.g., PE, API 510/570) are a plus preferable.

·      Oil & Gas (upstream and downstream).
