Senior Manager/AVP- Legal Collection (TW & Unsecured)

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage legal recovery strategies across the country for Two-Wheeler and Unsecured Lending portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and optimizing recovery through legal channels.

Role & responsibilities

Legal Strategy & Execution

- Design and implement national-level legal recovery strategies for delinquent accounts.

- Drive SARFAESI, Arbitration, Lok Adalat, and Section 138 proceedings.

- Liaise with external legal counsel and agencies for case filings and follow-ups.

- Ensure timely initiation and closure of legal actions across geographies.

Portfolio Management

- Monitor legal recovery performance bucket-wise (DPD-wise) across TW and unsecured portfolios.

- Analyze trends in legal collections and recommend corrective actions.

- Ensure legal actions are aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, internal policies, and legal norms.

- Maintain documentation and audit trails for all legal actions.

- Represent the organization in legal forums and statutory bodies when required.

Team & Vendor Management

- Manage regional legal managers and outsourced legal vendors.

- Conduct regular training and capability building for field and legal teams.

- Monitor SLA adherence and performance of legal vendors.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with collections, risk, and compliance teams to align legal recovery efforts.

- Provide legal insights during strategy reviews and portfolio assessments.

Preferred candidate profile

LLB/LLM with 1015 years of experience in retail lending legal recoveries.
- Proven track record in managing pan-India legal collections, especially in TW and unsecured segments.- Strong understanding of SARFAESI, Arbitration, CPC, CrPC, and RBI recovery guidelines
