Senior Manager (Quality Control)

Purpose/Objective

To monitor the quality of works, preparation of quality related documents, maintain the documentation, to execute the quality tests of various items like concrete, shotcrete, steel etc. To ensure Quality Control/Assurance, Risk Mitigation, and Continuous Improvement of project. Experienced and detail-oriented to lead and manage all quality assurance and control activities across civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines for large-scale Hydroelectric Pumped Storage Projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all construction and installation works meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities of Role

1. Quality Planning & Strategy - Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Management Plan tailored to project requirements. - Align quality objectives with project scope, schedule, and cost plans - Maintain the quality of works: Dam, concrete, steel, structural steel, rock support works etc. 2. Inspection & Testing - Oversee inspection and testing protocols for all project components, including hydromechanical. - Ensure final inspections and commissioning tests meet regulatory and performance standards 3. Vendor and Material Quality Assurance - Evaluate and approve vendors and suppliers based on quality criteria. - Ensure timely delivery and quality of materials and equipment through procurement integration 4. Change Management - Assess quality impacts of design changes due to geological, regulatory, or technological factors. - Implement structured change control processes to maintain quality integrity 5. Risk & Compliance Management - Identify and mitigate quality-related risks throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure compliance with national and international standards, environmental regulations, and safety norms 6. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, non-conformities, and corrective actions. - Prepare quality reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies. 7. Stakeholder Coordination - Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality alignment. - Engage with execution/design team, consultants, and regulatory authorities to address quality concerns. 8. Training & Capacity Building - Conduct training sessions for site personnel on quality standards and procedures. - Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness.

Technical Competencies

Documentation and reports preparation,Field tests for concrete, steel and other construction works,Knowledge of Quality Assurance Plan and its implementation,Lab tests for concrete, steel and other construction materials

Qualifications and Experience

- BE/ B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering on regular basis. - Minimum 15 yrs for BE/B.Tech and 20 yrs for Diploma holder in PSP/Hydro project with through knowledge of all the aspects of QA/QC of different components of PSP/Hydro projects like Dam, underground powerhouse, tunnel, coffer dam, TRT etc.
