EHS Manager Job Summary: The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This role will drive a strong safety culture, mitigate risks, and promote continuous improvement in EHS performance across the organization. Key Responsibilities: EHS Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives. Oversee all aspects of environmental compliance, including air emissions, wastewater discharge, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting. Manage occupational health and safety programs, including hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action implementation. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Stay current with all relevant EHS laws, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure the organization's compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory bodies. Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner. Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspections and audits. Risk Management & Incident Investigation: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. Lead and participate in incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of effective corrective and preventive actions. Implement and manage emergency preparedness and response plans. Training & Culture: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, specific hazard training, and regulatory compliance refreshers. Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and recognition programs. Chair or participate in safety committees. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and track EHS performance metrics (e.g., incident rates, audit findings, training completion). Prepare regular EHS performance reports for management, highlighting trends and recommending areas for improvement. Manage the EHS budget and resources effectively. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance through the application of lean principles, best practices, and innovative solutions. Implement and maintain EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001). Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including operations, HR, engineering, and facilities, to integrate EHS considerations into all business activities. Provide EHS guidance and support for new projects, equipment installations, and process changes. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
