Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned HR leader with a startup mindset to spearhead the HR function at Small Animal Hospital, Mumbai. With 10+ years of progressive HR experience, the Senior Manager HR will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team while also building systems, policies, and culture from the ground up. The role requires someone who thrives in high-growth, evolving environments, and can balance planning, strategizing, and execution with hands-on problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Advisory

  • Partner with the senior leadership as a trusted advisor on people strategy.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with hospital expansion and long-term goals.
  • Anticipate workforce challenges and design proactive HR interventions.
  • Drive change management and cultural transformation initiatives.

Planning & Organization Development

  • Build scalable HR systems and processes in line with a fast-evolving hospital setup.
  • Lead workforce planning and manpower forecasting across clinical and non-clinical functions.
  • Create organizational structures that support agility, collaboration, and efficiency.

Talent Acquisition & Retention

  • Design innovative talent acquisition strategies for doctors, nurses, and allied staff.
  • Build strong talent pipelines and succession plans for leadership roles.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Drive engagement initiatives that resonate in a high-pressure healthcare environment.
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent, and accountable workplace.

HR Operations, Compliance & Policy

  • Establish SOPs and HR policies with a startup lens.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee payroll, attendance, rosters, and employee lifecycle management.

Learning, Growth & Performance

  • Design hospital-specific training and professional development programs.
  • Lead performance management systems that reward both clinical excellence and service quality.
  • Mentor and coach HR team members to build future-ready HR capability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA / Master’s in HR or equivalent from a reputed institute.
  • 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in managerial role; prior experience in hospitals or healthcare is preferred.
  • Proven track record in setting up or scaling HR functions in a startup / high-growth environment.
