Senior Manager, Consolidation, US Central BPA

The associate will act as the cornerstone for critical financial planning and reporting operations that empowers the US BPA team with actionable insights and accurate forecasts. System Ownership & Strategy: Take end-to-end ownership of local FP&A and reporting systems for the Central BPA team, ensuring synchronization with global systems. Define strategies and drive enhancements to BPA/reporting systems i.e. SAP BPC / S4HANA / SAC etc., ensuring alignment with Novartis financial goals and digital transformation priorities. Planning Cycles & Guidance: Set up financial planning scenarios in systems (Target, operationalization cycles like Latest Forecast / Latest Outlook etc.) Change Management & Collaboration: Act as the primary Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the seamless implementation and rollout of S4HANA to the US BPA community to drive change management across systems and processes. Manage hierarchies, master data, and inputs/confirmations for the BPC (Business Planning Consolidation) application. System Accuracy & Synchronization: Ensure the accuracy of local financial planning/reporting systems, driving synchronization with global systems to maintain alignment between local and global BPA processes. Month-End Close Support: Provide vital support during month-end close activities, including data checks, validations, settlements, allocations, reporting, and analysis. System Changes & Reporting Adaptation: Manage changes to local systems, master data, data flows, and reporting structures to align with evolving business requirements. Incorporate changes to BPA reporting during special events/projects and restatements. Governance & Communication: Drive governance, communication, and collaboration across BPA teams on behalf of the Central team for key financial planning initiatives. Digital Finance Collaboration: Collaborate with Digital Finance teams to implement system enhancements, adopt new functionalities, and ensure continued stable operations of BPC systems. Ad Hoc Analysis: Address Basel/central team requests, providing ad hoc analysis on areas like sales/costs reporting, FTE utilization, MCF analysis, and more. Lead or support the creation and maintenance of consolidation reporting, as needed (e.g., TA / brand P&Ls, Functional cost views, etc. Advisory & Training: Deliver advisory inputs to the BPA community on best practices, process improvement, and system optimizations. Develop and maintain process documentation while conducting trainings for both the US and Hyderabad BPA teams. Essential Requirements: Team Management: Lead and manage a team of 4-5 professionals to ensure alignment with objectives and deliver high-quality results. Mentorship & Development: Guide, train, and mentor team members to enhance their technical and leadership skills. Performance & Accountability: Set clear goals, monitor team performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement. Desirable Requirements: Education: Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related fields. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA Finance, or equivalent) preferred. Experience: 7+ Years of relevant experience in Financial Planning, Consolidation, Systems Ownership, or Reporting roles. Hands-on expertise in FP&A systems (e.g., SAP BPC, S4HANA, SAC etc.) and financial reporting tools. Proven experience in successfully managing complex financial structures and systems upgrades. Familiarity with digital finance tools/processes and governance models.
