Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Lead operations for agr-commodities procurement and trading in West Bengal
Build and manage a strong buyer portfolio for key commodities (Paddy, Maize, etc.)
Develop and maintain a robust supplier network across West Bengal for agri-commodity sourcing
Drive commodity trading operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance
Leverage strong knowledge of the geography and paddy-producing regions of West Bengal to optimize sourcing strategies
Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing operations and procurement team
Ensure adherence to quality standards, procurement timelines, and cost optimization.
Build strong market intelligence and maintain close relationships with stakeholders across the agri value chain.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate / Postgraduate in Agriculture or related discipline.
810 years of proven experience in agricultural commodity procurement and trading (paddy, maize preferred).
Strong understanding of commodity markets, price dynamics, and trading practices
Demonstrated ability to build supplier ecosystems and manage buyer relationships
Excellent leadership skills with experience in team building and people management.
Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
