Position: Procurement Specialist

PolyCycl is seeking a technically qualified and experienced Procurement Specialist to lead and manage procurement functions across projects and operations. The incumbent must be a technically qualified and experienced person in a procurement function in the Chemical /Hydrocarbon/polymer sector industry

The role involves handling end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, price negotiation, and contract finalization for both large-scale project procurements and ongoing pilot plant maintenance needs.

The incumbent will work closely with the Project Head and CEO to ensure procurement efficiency, cost optimization, and technical compliance across all purchased equipment, materials, and services.

Work Experience: 10 to 15 Years

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities for capital equipment, plant machinery, and project-related materials (for projects upto INR 50 Cr).
• Handle procurement of consumables, spares, and maintenance items for the running pilot plant.
• Develop and manage vendor qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring processes for domestic and international suppliers.
• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations and support final price and contract negotiations.
• Ensure cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with the engineering, projects, and operations teams for material specifications, approvals, and procurement planning.
• Manage import-related activities, including LC documentation, customs clearance, and logistics coordination for international purchases.
• Maintain robust documentation, PO tracking, and compliance with company procurement policies.
• Support audit, budgeting, and cost control initiatives related to procurement.

Job Responsibilities and Skill Sets Required

1. Projects Brownfield and greenfield projects -

• Vendor identification
• Vendor prequalification.
• RFQ / RFP Documentation drafting and composing
• RFQ float and vendor follow-up
• Commercial internal cost estimate generation for individual equipment and packages.
• Commercial negotiations for price finalization.
• PO and post-order follow-up and coordination.
• Report generation and updates on delivery and timelines of each procurement item.
• Payment and post-payment service.
• Supply chain and logistics coordination and tracking.
• Must be able to use MS Office for reports, etc.
• Must have expert knowledge of ERP systems like Tally and SAP.

2. Manufacturing / R&D

• Stock keeping of consumables, chemicals and spares and raw materials.
• Equipment order.
• Vendor follow-up for services and service provider coordination.
