Job Description

Senior Manager / Assistant General Manager- Business Development -Metro & Railway Projects

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to oversee the functioning of the entire business development function.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the financial and people performance of the function as well ensuring critical activities take place with minimal delays.
  • The role holder will ensure that all the financial and risk mapping for all the bids are in place and the approvals are obtained within 24 hours to ensure a successful bid submission.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Creation and Submission.

  • Establish bid creation framework to prioritise bid submissions according to their value and feasibility.
  • Assign resources to various bids aligned with capabilities of the team and expertise.
  • Ensure feasibility studies are in place, review the bid document and the multiple stages and guide the team on the further course of action.
  • Ensure the bid document showcases GRIL to the best of their abilities.
  • Arrive at a bid price which bolsters profitability in alignment with the senior management.

Bid Process Management

  • Put a bid management framework in place to align various approvals at different stages.
  • Ensure approvals are closed within 24 hours of intimation.
  • Create a partner ecosystem through joint ventures and other profitable mechanisms while bidding for projects.
  • Provide an outside-in view of the industry through competitor benchmarking.

Operational Metrics & Reportin

  • Own the reporting dashboards for the management teams.
  • Create and update the Organisational Bid management framework.
  • Manage bid related operational metrics and catalogue the status.
  • Review the operational performance metrics and advise to enhance productivity and efficiency.

People management

  • Identify overall resourcing and staffing requirements.
  • Identify training needs for direct reports to ensure competency development across domain, industry and behaviour and sign off on

engagement programs.

  • Maintain a track of errors in bidding through statistical techniques and build experience database to aid team training and for

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with 13-15 years experience in handling multiple successful bid submissions

or

  • B.Tech / M.T ech with 11-13 years experience in handling multiple successful bid submissions
  • Experience in handling bid functions at Railway & Merto projects

    with a scope of around INR 1000 crore and above
