Role Overview

The Sr. Manager HR Operations will be responsible for leading and streamlining the entire HR Operations function across multiple locations. This role demands strong expertise in HR processes, payroll management, compliance, HRIS implementation, and employee lifecycle management. The position requires high attention to detail, process orientation, and strong stakeholder management to ensure operational excellence and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle management (onboarding to exit).
  • Ensure smooth execution of onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, and separations.
  • Standardize and enforce HR policies, processes, and SOPs across regions.
  • Drive adoption of HRIS (attendance, payroll, appraisal, and compliance modules).

Payroll & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees across regions.
  • Manage salary inputs, TDS, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus, LWF).
  • Liaise with finance for variance reports, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Keep the organization compliant with labor laws, statutory filings, and internal audits.

Attendance & Leave Management

  • Monitor attendance systems, rosters, and leave approvals.
  • Implement controls to minimize discrepancies and unauthorized absences.
  • Resolve escalations related to leave, overtime, and deductions.

Performance & Appraisal

  • Manage appraisal cycle operations in alignment with business timelines.
  • Ensure KRAs/KPIs are captured, reviewed, and updated on HR systems.
  • Drive transparent communication of appraisal outcomes.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the first escalation point for HR operational queries.
  • Partner with HRBPs to drive engagement, grievance handling, and employee well-being.
  • Ensure timely resolution of employee queries on payroll, attendance, and policies.

Technology, Reporting & Analytics

  • Implement and optimize HR tech tools (HRIS/ATS/Payroll).
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for attrition, attendance, payroll, and compliance.
  • Provide insights to leadership for decision-making.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor the HR Ops team across regions.
  • Collaborate with TA, Finance, and Business Leaders to ensure smooth manpower planning.
  • Drive service excellence in all employee touchpoints.

Key Requirements

  • MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent.
  • 10–14 years of HR operations experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll compliance, and statutory filings.
  • Experience in managing HR technology platforms (HRIS, ATS, payroll systems).
  • Ability to manage multi-location teams and handle scale in a fast-growing environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
