Role Overview: The Senior Headmistress will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the academic and operational functions of the school from Pre-Primary to Grade 12. This includes academic planning, student discipline, teacher mentoring, and curriculum implementation. She will work closely with the Principal to uphold the school’s academic standards and foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:A. General – Yearly Responsibilities Effectively implement management and Principal directives. Promote a positive, value-based, and disciplined school culture. Plan and execute academic and extracurricular programs in alignment with the CBSE curriculum. Prepare and allocate teacher timetables, classroom schedules, and lesson plans. Monitor syllabus completion, assessments, and timely result publication. Lead co-curricular, inter-house, and inter-school competitions. Oversee school publications – magazine, bulletin, and annual calendar. Plan and facilitate teacher training (minimum 50 hours/year: 25 CBSE + 25 school-based). Support recruitment, teacher appraisals, and continuous professional development. B. Daily Routine Duties Teach a minimum of 16 periods per week, primarily in the Middle & Preparatory stage. Supervise daily assemblies, discipline, and value education sessions. Ensure timely correction of classwork/homework and proper lesson delivery. Conduct at least two Classroom Observations (CROs) per day and review outcomes with the Principal. Utilize teacher stay-back time for workshops or skill enhancement. Maintain student discipline records and suggest appropriate actions. Conduct two Learning Walks per week to ensure academic quality and provide constructive feedback. Identify students needing academic support and arrange remedial sessions. Regularly engage with parents on student progress and school updates. Ensure classrooms have updated and relevant display boards. Submit a comprehensive daily operational report to the Principal or Management. C. Weekly Responsibilities Review and ensure lesson plans, teacher diaries, and academic reports are updated. Coordinate communication for PTMs and upcoming school events. Oversee adherence to and implementation of the school’s annual activity calendar. Qualifications & Skills Required: Master’s degree in Education, Child Psychology, or a related field. 5–10 years of teaching and school administrative experience in a K–12 environment. Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. Deep understanding of CBSE curriculum, academic planning, and school operations.
