Role Overview


Thakur Educational Group is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Social Media Optimization (SMO) Specialist to lead our digital engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in optimizing social media presence across platforms, improving discoverability, and enhancing user engagement. The SMO Executive will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to execute data-driven strategies that strengthen the institution’s online visibility and brand positioning.


Key Responsibilities:


Social Media Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement comprehensive SMO strategies aligned with overall marketing goals.

• Increase brand visibility, engagement, and conversions through organic and paid efforts.


Profile Optimisation & Branding

• Oversee the optimisation of social media profiles (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) to reflect brand identity.

• Ensure consistency, discoverability, and platform-specific best practices.


Content Strategy & Optimisation

• Collaborate with content and design teams to ensure content is SEO-friendly, visually engaging, and aligned with audience interests.


Performance Analytics & Reporting

• Monitor and analyse key performance metrics using tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, SEMrush, and Hootsuite.

• Deliver regular performance reports with actionable insights to leadership.


SEO & SMO Integration

• Apply SEO techniques within social media strategies, including keyword integration, metadata usage, and strategic linking to increase reach and ranking.

• Support backlink strategies to drive traffic to institutional websites.


Campaign Optimisation

• Evaluate and optimize both organic and paid campaigns in real-time to improve engagement, ROI, and lead generation.


Trend Monitoring & Innovation

• Stay informed about emerging trends in social media, content marketing, and digital engagement.

• Experiment with new tools, formats, and techniques to stay ahead of the curve.


Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in social media optimization, digital marketing. 
  • Proven track record of successful social media campaign execution.
  • Advanced understanding of major social media platforms, SEO principles, and content marketing.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, SEMrush, Meta Business Suite).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with a data-driven approach to social media.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills (for senior-level applicants).
