Job Description

As a Child Part Development Engineer, your role involves timely development and localization of child parts. You will closely work with the New Model Development (NMD) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing all child parts (plastic, sheet metal, rubber, injection moulding) for new projects according to the specified requirements. - Evaluating suppliers" competency, conducting SWOT analysis, and ensuring alignment with child part requirements to expand the Approved Vendor List. - Ensuring that the parts meet customer specifications and requirements, and submitting samples as per customer milestones. - Conducting first principle costing of child parts, analyzing suppliers" quotes, and making comparisons. - Ensuring that parts are out of the development stage without any concerns. - Submitting necessary documents such as PPAP, ELV, and participating in audits when required. - Releasing tooling and part purchase orders to suppliers and finalizing agreements. - Coordinating PDCA activities, updating and analyzing own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). - Implementing digitalization, vendor upgrades, alternate sourcing, releasing purchase orders or Letters of Intent, and coordinating Total Quality Management (TQM) activities. - Having knowledge of the supplier base in North India, various technologies like Tooling and Die, Terminals, Wiring Harness, Adhesives, pressure die casting, plating & powder coating, etc. - Understanding Quality Systems requirements, PERT and CPM activities, and demonstrating skills in supplier management, negotiation, crisis management, leadership, communication, and proficiency in ORACLE. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and preferences: - A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech./B.E.) is a must. - 4-7 years of total work experience. - Preference for a background in the automotive industry, particularly with Japanese model auto companies.,
