Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Attendance and Data Management

  • Provide weekly attendance and employee master data to the payroll vendor.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely collection of required data.

2. Input Validation

  • Validate all payroll inputs received from stakeholders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify inconsistencies and ensure timely correction.

3. Reconciliation and Payment Processing

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of salary advances, loans, and recoveries.
  • Initiate and verify payments to the payroll vendor to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Support monthly payroll closure and reporting.

4. Compliance Monitoring

  • Ensure that total deductions do not exceed

    50% of employees earned salaries

    , as per statutory requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable labor and payroll regulations.

5. Employee Support

  • Respond to employee queries related to salary advances, loan eligibility, repayment schedules, and deductions.
  • Provide clear and timely communication to resolve payroll-related issues.

6. Audit and Governance

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to address audit queries.
  • Maintain documentation and reports required for compliance and audit readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to payroll governance standards.

7. Minimum Wage and Salary Structure Management (Critical Function)

  • Maintain a

    state-wise minimum wage tracker

    for all applicable categories (skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled, etc.).
  • Update salary structures based on state notifications related to minimum wage revisions.
  • Ensure timely implementation of wage revisions and any required arrears.
  • Consolidate all vendor inputs related to wage updates and compliance.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    labor laws, state-wise minimum wages

    , and payroll compliance.
  • Experience handling end-to-end payroll for a blue-collar workforce.
  • Proficiency in Excel, payroll MIS, and payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage vendor coordination.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
