Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Proficiency in E3D's specific features and functionalities is essential for success in this role. Prepare 2D and 3D electrical drawings and layouts using E3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant software. Model and coordinate electrical systems (cable trays, lighting, earthing, and equipment) in E3D. Review and manage clash detections using Navisworks or similar software. Ensure designs comply with project specifications, international standards (IEEE, NFPA, etc.), and industry best practices. Support the preparation of material take-offs, cable schedules, and equipment lists. Work with engineers, clients, and other disciplines to develop designs. Supervise and mentor junior designers. Identify and resolve technical issues related to electrical design. Produce detailed design drawings and documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders is necessary. Responsible for creating detailed electrical designs, managing clash detections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. They also lead and mentor junior designers, and may be involved in material take-offs and vendor drawing reviews. Review the ITT (Invitation To Tender) documents provided in the proposals, evaluate the drafting scope and prepare / review the Bill of material, identify technical queries (TQs) as applicable. Experience in SMART SKETCH, Cable Trench/Tray Routing Layout, Lighting & Small Power Layout, Earthing Layout, Sub-station equipment Layout, Lighting calculation, ENMCS (Electrical Network and Monitoring control system Prepare and review various estimates like Bill of quantities, Man-hours, Software requirements during proposals /projects. Provide engineering input to proposals like risk register, project execution plan, manning levels / histograms, identify probable optimizations during proposals / projects etc. Collate inputs from all concerned and compile Technical Document Register (TDR) and align it with the scope of work. Review basis of design, design guidelines, specifications, Data Sheets, equipment layout, Hazardous area classifications, typical installation standards and other relevant documents.
