To develop, integrate, implement, and verify technical solutions and compliance documentation in accordance with customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
The primary responsibility is EWIS component design with full ownership of assigned tasks. The role involves independent or minimally supervised work on aerospace electrical system schematics and wiring diagrams. The candidate must have hands-on experience in:
- Electrical Functional Design (EFD)
- Electrical Installation Design (EID)
- Electrical System Schematic Drawings (ESSD)
- Electrical Components Engineering
Execution shall follow established design practices and work instructions.
The role holder is fully accountable for task delivery and is expected to provide regular updates to the team leader and program teams. The position also contributes to product improvement initiatives, method development, and continuous improvement activities through internal engineering forums.
The role includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting team leads in managing teams and projects, and contributing to capability building.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver electrical wiring design tasks as an individual contributor aligned with functional KPIs
- Support design processes to achieve required quality within scope of responsibility
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve team efficiency
- Develop, implement, and verify technical solutions and compliance documentation
- Identify technical problems and integrate effective solutions
- Execute approved methods, tools, and approaches to meet design and program objectives
- Identify and assess technical risks for own and team deliverables and propose mitigations
- Generate assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports per authorization requirements
- Support technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews
- Process concessions and non-conformances and implement corrective solutions
- Perform work with minimal supervision and support peer reviews
- Identify improvements and support creation of work instructions, procedures, and guidelines

- Strong engineering functional knowledge in the relevant area of expertise
- Experience interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers
- Awareness of aerospace industry practices and lifecycle processes
- Strong technical problem-solving capability
Essential
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in EEE, ECE, Electronics & Instrumentation, Telecommunication, or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- 10-16 years of experience in aerospace electrical system schematics and wiring diagrams
- Hands-on experience in:
- Wiring, block, schematic, stick, and topology drawings
- 3D wire harness routing and manufacturing engineering drawings
- BOM generation for HV, LV, and RF harnesses
- Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Electre, Siemens Capital, CATIA/UG-NX, MS Office, Beyond Compare
- Knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution
- Strong knowledge of standards:
- SAE AS50881
- MIL-STD-5088L
- MIL-STD-704F
- EMI/EMC standards
- MIL-W/C-27500
- Electrical component selection experience (connectors, backshells, wires, cables, relays, switches, modules)
- Library, symbol, and database creation for wiring and system definitions
- CAD model updates for ESSDs and wire harness definitions
- Failure mode understanding and optimization capability
- Knowledge of aerostructure electrical components and assemblies
- Documentation support for Change Control Boards (CCBs)
- Contribution to technical development of processes, products, or people
- Customization/programming skills using Excel VBA, Python, Power Query, or Power Pivot
- Strong technical report writing skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of airworthiness requirements for EWIS design
- Experience with wire harness flattening and form board creation
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Basic knowledge of project planning, costing, scheduling, and risk management
