Senior Database Administrator

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and supporting the database infrastructure within our shared cloud operations environment. Your responsibilities will include: - Administering and maintaining MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL database systems across different environments. - Engineering and implementing robust backup and recovery solutions, including replication and failover strategies. - Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and conducting tuning and optimization for high availability and low latency. - Ensuring database implementations adhere to standards, security policies, and best practices. - Designing, testing, and validating database solutions to meet functional and technical specifications. - Collaborating with project managers and engineering teams to support database implementations and configuration management. - Leading configuration change activities during deployment and maintenance processes. - Creating and maintaining technical documentation and configuration records for knowledge sharing and auditing. - Authoring knowledge base articles and SOPs to support Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams with incident responses and resolution workflows. Qualifications required for this role: - 6+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA focusing on MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent NoSQL systems. - Strong understanding of replication, clustering, and high-availability architectures. - Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management. - Solid knowledge of backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning. - Experience in cloud-first or hybrid cloud environments. - Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation, and tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines. - Excellent documentation skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Skills: - Experience supporting containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). - Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef). - Understanding of database security best practices and role-based access controls. - Ability to script in Bash, Python, or similar for administrative automation tasks.,
