Senior Content Strategist

As a Sr. Content Strategist at Horizontal Digital, you will play a pivotal role in bridging various teams to ensure comprehensive, SEO-friendly, and WCAG compliant content. Your responsibilities will include defining content strategy aligned with business goals, leading pre-authoring phases, optimizing on-page elements for SEO, and ensuring accessibility compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth workflows and advocate for user-first content experiences. Your primary responsibilities will include: Content Strategy & Planning: Define content strategy in line with business objectives, lead pre-authoring phases, ensure content governance consistency, and propose enhancements to information architecture. SEO Management: Conduct keyword research, perform SEO audits, optimize on-page elements, collaborate with developers for technical SEO best practices, and monitor performance metrics. Accessibility Compliance: Create accessibility guidelines, validate compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards, work on ADA requirements, and mentor authors on inclusive writing and accessible formatting. Collaboration & Governance: Partner with cross-functional teams, maintain documentation, and advocate for user-first and inclusive content experiences. The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record in content strategy, SEO, and accessibility, with at least 3 years of experience in each area. Proficiency in CMS platforms, especially Sitecore, and hands-on experience with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs is required. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential, along with a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a relevant field.
