Position: Civil Engineer – Design & Execution (Water Infrastructure)Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with strong expertise in the design and execution of water-based infrastructure. The candidate will lead civil design development, structural calculations, site execution plans, and integration of civil structures with SHKT systems across canals, rivers, dams, cooling water channels, and hydrostructures.

Key Responsibilities1. Structural & Civil Design

• Design of precast concrete blocks, reinforcement detailing, and structural combinations for various grades of concrete.
• Structural design for:
• Bridges & hanging wire-rope bridges
• Canals, river training structures & diversion channels
• Culverts, siphons, aqueducts, super passages
• Cross regulators, head regulators, cross-bunds
• Low-head hydro structures, inlet/outlet arrangements
• Foundations, pile systems & anchoring structures
• Prepare execution drawings, GA drawings, reinforcement drawings, and BOQs.
• Work with Mechanical & Electrical design teams to integrate civil design with SHKT modules, sensor trenches, SCADA rooms, and cable-routing structures.

2. Site Execution & Project Management

• Supervise execution of civil works for SHKT, SHK-PSP & canal-top solar projects.
• Ensure strong coordination with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
• Conduct site surveys, contour mapping, layout planning, and quality inspections.
• Prepare method statements, QAP, checklists, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with CEA, BIS, IRC, IS codes and MACLEC’s execution standards.

3. Technical Analysis & Validation

• Perform load calculations, structural safety evaluations, geotechnical evaluations, and hydraulic modelling.
• Validate canal flow, energy dissipation zones, and impact of SHKT structures on canal hydraulics.
• Use software:
• STAAD Pro / SAP2000 / ETABS
• AutoCAD / Civil 3D
• Revit (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of CFD/Hydraulic analysis (additional advantage)

4. Solar + Water Infrastructure Integration

• Conceptualize and design canal-top solar structures, floating solar supports, foundations, and anchoring systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Structural/Hydraulics preferred).
• 3–10 years of experience in water infrastructure + structural works.
• Strong design capability in precast blocks, RCC, reinforcement design, mix-design.
• Must have executed/ designed:
• Canals, bridges, culverts, siphons, aqueducts
• Foundations, retaining walls, flood protection works
• Hydro structures (any size)
• Ability to handle designs independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills (English mandatory).
• Willingness to travel for site inspections, government meetings, and vendor verification.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Irrigation Department, PWD, Hydro projects, Water Resources, Solar-Canal systems, or PSP (Pumped Storage Plant) projects.
• Experience designing modular precast systems.
• Exposure to government tender documentation & DPR preparation.
