Senior Business Analyst

Role & responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, including operations, procurement, technical, crewing, and safety teams to gather detailed requirements.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and document analysis to create comprehensive

  Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)

  process flows to identify process improvements and system enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into actionable

  user stories and epics

  using

  JIRA

  for agile tracking and sprint planning.
• Ensure alignment between business expectations and IT deliverables through continuous communication and documentation.
• Coordinate with IT vendors and developers for solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Review technical design specifications and validate them against business requirements.
• Support UAT planning, test case creation, and execution to ensure successful feature rollouts.
• Track change requests, manage scope, and document decisions throughout the SDLC lifecycle.
• Provide post-implementation support and assist in training end users on new functionalities.
• Contribute to the standardization of documentation practices and process frameworks across modules.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

Experience

• 58 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Experience in the shipping industry, with knowledge of technical management processes (e.g., vessel maintenance, HSEQ, procurement, audits, compliance).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira or confluence.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with maritime operations, ship management systems, or technical management tools.
• Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio etc.)
