Job Description

  • Medical Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on medical equipment (e.g., MRI machines, ventilators, infusion pumps, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and repair medical devices when they malfunction or fail.
  • Ensure proper calibration of machines to maintain accurate readings.
  • Installation and Commissioning:
  • Oversee the installation of new medical equipment.
  • Perform system integration and testing to ensure new devices are operational.
  • Collaborate with vendors for training on new equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure that all equipment complies with relevant health and safety regulations, including FDA and ISO standards.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and any safety issues for audits.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical assistance and training to healthcare staff on how to use medical devices.
  • Troubleshoot device-related problems faced by doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel.
  • Equipment Inventory and Management:
  • Maintain inventory of medical equipment, ensuring timely replacement of obsolete or broken items.
  • Coordinate with hospital management to procure new medical devices or accessories.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain a log of maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Prepare reports on the status of medical devices and equipment.
  • Collaboration with Medical and Administrative Teams:
  • Work closely with medical professionals (doctors, nurses) to understand the functionality and requirements of the equipment.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration for budgeting and purchasing decisions related to medical technology.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician - CBET) can be an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronics, electrical systems, computer science, and medical device software.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues in medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with healthcare regulatory bodies (FDA, IEC, etc.) and guidelines for medical devices.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical information clearly to medical staff and patients.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in maintaining equipment standards and compliance with safety protocols.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Typically works in hospital settings (clinics, laboratories, and operating rooms).
  • Hours: May work standard hours or be on call for urgent maintenance and repairs.
  • Work Conditions: Involves both desk work for documentation and fieldwork for equipment maintenance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,749.39 - ₹35,000.00 per month
