Role Description

Develop an understanding of the Grant Thornton audit approach, methodology and tools
Demonstrate working knowledge of audit not-for-profit organizations such as higher education institutions, religious, social service and cultural organizations, among othersFamiliarity with US GAAP related to contribution revenue and pledges receivable, alternative investment portfolios, and endowment net assetsWorking knowledge of performing an audit in accordance with OMB Uniform Guidance (Single Audit), specifically determining major programs, performing risk assessment on major programs, testing allowable costs and other direct and material compliance requirements (for example, cash management and reporting)Working knowledge of relevant accounting standards per US GAAP e.g., ASC 958Working knowledge of auditing the Department of Education Student Financial Aid Cluster and Health and Human Services major program in accordance with the annual OMB Compliance SupplementGain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagementsPerform detailed review of work executed by staff (Analysts and Associates)2019 Grant Thornton LLP | All rights reserved | U.S. member f irm of Grant Thornton International Ltd.Implement high standards of quality for performance of team and monitor engagement progress.Provide effective counseling, training, coaching and mentoring to team members to assist them in fully developing their potential.
