Security Head-Thermal Power Plant

Role & responsibilities

A Head of Security is essential to ensure the safety and protection of critical infrastructure. This position will oversee physical and cybersecurity measures to prevent sabotage, theft, or unauthorized access. This will ensure compliance with safety regulations and emergency preparedness. This position will coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services during incidents. Ultimately, it will help to maintain uninterrupted power generation and public & asset safety.

Security Strategy & Policy Implementation:

• Personnel Management:

  Lead, train, and supervise the security team, including shift supervisors and guards, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness and high morale.

• Surveillance & Access Control:

  Manage surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms) and oversee access control protocols to prevent unauthorized entry into sensitive plant areas.

• Risk Assessment & Threat Management:

  Conduct regular risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement measures to mitigate physical and operational security threats.

• Incident Response & Reporting:

  Lead response efforts for security incidents, ensure thorough investigations, maintain detailed reports, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.

• Compliance & Audits:

  Ensure compliance with national security laws, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, and internal audit requirements.

• Emergency Preparedness:

  Develop and conduct regular security drills and emergency response exercises in collaboration with plant operations and safety teams.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:

  Manage third-party security services and coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive security management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 20-25 years of experience in the role of security/administration- officer.
• Proven track record in the field of security management of a large set-up.
• Must have an experience of leading a team of more than 50 personnel.

• Must be an ex-servicemen of a central govt. agencies such as Army, Airforce, CISF, CRPF, BSF, Navy at officer level etc.

Candidate must be from big manufacturing setup like-Cement, steel, power plant etc.
