Job Description

Job Title: SCADA/IoT Engineer – Water Supply Networks

Location: Hyderabad

Experience: 3+ years in SCADA/IoT deployment and execution, preferably in utility or water sector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SCADA/IoT Engineer to lead and support the execution and deployment of automation systems in water supply networks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telemetry, PLC integration, field device commissioning, and the deployment of SCADA/IoT solutions tailored for real-time monitoring and control of water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and commissioning of SCADA/IoT systems including RTUs, PLCs, gateways, and flow/pressure/chlorine sensors.
  • Design and deploy telemetry architectures for wide-area water distribution networks.
  • Integrate real-time data into central SCADA dashboards and GIS platforms for operational visibility.
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to align field execution with digital automation goals.
  • Ensure secure, reliable communication between field devices and central servers using protocols like MQTT, Modbus, and OPC UA.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize SCADA/IoT network performance during and after deployment.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in field-level commissioning and execution of industrial automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/RTU programming (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley).
  • Knowledge of IoT platforms and communication technologies (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, 4G/5G, etc.).
  • Familiar with water sector instrumentation and sensors: flow meters, pressure transducers, chlorine sensors, pressure sensors, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA platforms (like Ignition, Wonderware, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical/control schematics, and site plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
  • Experience with GIS tools like QGIS and integration with SCADA data layers.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
