About the Role

SCADA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor installed servers, switches, GPS systems, and workstations of control center equipment using the

  Site Overview Display

  and

  NMS application

  .
• Create and manage databases for

  RTUs, FRTUs, and customer control calculations

  using

  DBB (Database Builder)

  .
• Modify and maintain existing databases to support live system operations.
• Design, build, and modify

  SCADA and DMS displays

  using

  FG Builder

  and the

  DMS Development Tool

  .
• Diagnose and resolve workstation, RVDU, and field-level device issues reported by users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in

  E-Terra Reports

  and perform related

  SQL Server

  maintenance.
• Configure and maintain

  network devices

  (switches, routers, firewalls) and ensure seamless system connectivity.
• Execute

  quarterly system backups, purging, and preventive maintenance activities

  .
• Support the integration of new substations and ensure validation of all digital/analog signals from RMU panels to SCADA.
• Perform firmware and database updates in RTUs/FRTUs as required.
• Manage

  LDMS-related operations

  and provide technical support to users.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Proven hands-on experience with

  GE E-Terra SCADA/DMS Suite (v3.4)

  modules such as:
• DBB, Browser, Comm, Control, Habitat, PClink, SCADA, Distribution Server, Transmission, Display Builder, Archive, Sentinel
• Strong understanding of

  SCADA operations

  ,

  power system automation

  , and

  substation systems

  .
• Proficiency in

  SQL Server administration

  ,

  network configuration

  , and

  system troubleshooting

  .
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Electrical Engineering

  ,

  Electronics

  ,

  Instrumentation

  , or related field.
• Experience working in

  utility

  ,

  power distribution

  , or

  industrial automation

  environments.
• Familiarity with

  communication protocols

  (IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, etc.).
