SAP SuccessFactors Compensation & Variable Pay Consultant

SuccessFactors Compensation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, and support of the SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Variable Pay modules.
  • Design and configure compensation plans, pay components, eligibility rules, variable pay cycles, bonus and merit processes, and approval workflows.
  • Customize compensation worksheets, dashboards, and forms to meet client-specific pay strategy requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to define and implement variable pay plans such as bonuses, commissions, and incentive payments.
  • Develop and manage

    Role-Based Permissions (RBP)

    to control secure access to compensation data across different user roles.
  • Create and maintain

    People Analytics Story Reports

    and dashboards focused on compensation distribution, budget utilization, and variable pay metrics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system configuration issues, provide user training, and develop documentation.
  • Manage integration points with Employee Central and other SAP SF modules to ensure accurate data flows for compensation processes.
  • Utilize

    Integration Center

    for data integration, imports, and exports between SuccessFactors modules and external systems.
  • Stay updated on the latest SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Variable Pay module features, best practices, and releases.

Technical Skills Required:

SAP SuccessFactors Compensation & Variable Pay:

  • Hands-on experience configuring and implementing Compensation module components including:
    • Compensation Plans and Plan Templates
    • Pay Components and Eligibility Rules
    • Merit, Bonus, Stock, and Variable Pay cycles
    • Compensation Worksheets and Manager/Employee Self-Service interfaces
    • Workflow and approval process setup
    • Currency and exchange rate configuration

Experience with Variable Pay module implementation including:

    • Configuring incentive and bonus plans
    • Target setting and attainment calculations
    • Payout rules and integration with payroll
  • Strong knowledge of compensation data model, matrix setup, and budget management.
  • Experience configuring Compensation dashboards and reports.

Role-Based Permissions (RBP):

  • Expertise in designing and managing RBP roles to safeguard sensitive compensation and variable pay information.
  • Ability to configure access control across organizational hierarchy and user groups.

People Analytics:

  • Proficient in building

    Story Reports

    and dashboards to analyze compensation distribution, bonus allocations, and variable pay performance.
  • Experience delivering actionable insights through compensation and variable pay analytics.

Employee Central & Integration Center:

  • Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors

    Employee Central (EC)

    with experience in integrating compensation data with EC core HR data.
  • Hands-on experience using

    Integration Center

    for data imports, exports, and process automation between SAP SF modules and external systems.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors Admin Center and Provisioning.
  • Experience working on at least 2-3 full lifecycle implementation projects for Compensation and Variable Pay modules.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

Good to Have:

  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation or Variable Pay Certification.
  • Knowledge of payroll integrations and external payroll system interfacing.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements related to compensation and pay equity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Variable Pay Certifications.
  • Proven track record of 2-3 full lifecycle Compensation and Variable Pay implementations.
  • Experience with global deployments and multi-country compensation structures.
  • Familiarity with integration scenarios involving Employee Central and payroll systems.
