Job Description

As a senior compliance risk officer within Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) at Citi, you will be responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures, and processes related to monitoring and ensuring compliance with sanctions regulatory requirements. Your role will involve assessing sanctions risk exposure, overseeing the quality of sanctions control processes, and setting global standards to manage and mitigate these risks to protect the franchise. In addition to establishing internal strategies, your responsibilities will include providing support for identifying potential breaches of sanctions across the firm, collaborating with the Business and Compliance teams to ensure consistent application of relevant global standards, policies, and procedures, and overseeing the adherence to Citigroup's Global Sanctions Policy and procedures. You will work closely with the team to provide advice on the applicability of policies, analyze data, prepare regional and global reports on sanctions risk assessments, and monitor sanctions-related issues. Your role will also involve providing input on new business initiatives, products, and technologies, as well as partnering with functional partners to address potential risks. Furthermore, you will be responsible for promoting global consistency in Sanctions ICRM practices, interacting with management to raise awareness of sanctions trends, and participating in various internal assurance processes. Your role will also require you to draft and edit sanctions-related reference materials, support electronic record-keeping logs for sanctions licenses, and participate in sanctions training programs. To excel in this role, you must possess expertise in technology infrastructure, architecture, and data, preferably with knowledge of Sanctions and AML regulations. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a complex organization. Advanced analytical skills, project management capabilities, and proficiency in MS Office applications are also key qualifications required for this position. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and experience in compliance, legal, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry. An advanced degree is preferred, along with a self-starter mindset, flexibility, innovation, and adaptability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. As a vital member of the compliance team at Citi, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the firm's reputation, clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and by driving sound ethical judgment in all business practices.
