As part of our continued expansion in India, we are seeking a Sampling Manager to join our manufacturing team in Gandhidham. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of innovative samples for both Beyond Retro and our international brand partners, driving the creative and technical process from concept to prototype.

Job Description

As a Sampling Manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of samples across apparel and handbags, ensuring all designs are realized to the highest aesthetic, functional, and sustainability standards. You’ll collaborate closely with the UK design and development teams, the upcycling production and sampling department, and suppliers - bridging creative vision and production feasibility using post-consumer textiles and innovative technologies such as laser etching.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete sampling process for apparel and accessories for Beyond Retro and partner brands.
• Translate design briefs and technical specifications into accurate, production-feasible samples. Explain the tech packs to Pattern Master and sample Tailors.
• Experiment with post-consumer textiles and sustainable materials to meet brand requirements.
• Operate or oversee laser etching equipment for product detailing and customization.
• Conduct detailed sample reviews, providing feedback and driving iterative improvements to meet design, fit, and quality standards.
• Work closely with pattern makers, cutters, and production staff to ensure construction accuracy.
• Liaise effectively with the UK design and development teams to align on specifications, revisions, and delivery timelines.
• Source trims and components to meet product specifications, ensuring both quality and aesthetic alignment.
• Maintain organized documentation of samples, materials, trims, and feedback throughout the development cycle.
• Support smooth handover from approved samples to production-ready products.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Product Development, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sampling, product development, or merchandising — ideally across both apparel and accessories in a manufacturing Industry.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international teams.
• Demonstrated experience working with recycled or post-consumer materials.
• Proficiency in CorelDRAW for design visualization and technical drawing.
• Working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) for collaboration and documentation.
• Experience using Monday.com or other project management tools to track sample progress and team communication.
• Familiarity with laser etching.
• Strong technical understanding of pattern making, and product construction.
• Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills.
• Passionate about sustainability, innovation, and circular fashion.
