Safety Officer

Location:

Purpose

To ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Factory Act, 1948 and Maharashtra Factory Rules, 1963, while driving a strong safety culture across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS & Fire Safety management systems as per ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 50001.
  
• Conduct IMS internal audits, safety inspections, risk assessments (HIRA, JSA, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, FMEA), and ensure closure of NCs.
  
• Manage fire services operations including fire tenders, ambulances, hydrant systems, and firefighting equipment.
  
• Organize emergency mock drills, evacuation exercises, and safety promotional campaigns.
  
• Lead accident/incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  
• Drive contractor safety management (PQA, CARE, CFSA audits) and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
  
• Prepare and maintain Safety MIS, Corporate Safety reports, and safety documentation through EHS software (MySetu, SAP/Ariba).
  
• Conduct EHS training, safety awareness programs, and coordinate safety committee meetings as per DuPont structure.
  
• Promote behavior-based safety (BBS), 5S, sustainability initiatives, and Zero Harm culture.
  
• Liaise with statutory authorities, certification bodies, and external agencies for compliance, audits, and certifications.
  

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / Bachelor / Postgraduate in Engineering OR B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry) / B.Tech / M.Tech.
  
• Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS/ADIS/DIS – AICTE/recognized institute).
  
• NEBOSH IGC/IDIP certification preferred.
  

Experience

• 08–15 years of experience in Plant Safety / EHS Management with strong exposure to statutory compliance, fire & emergency management, and industrial safety systems.
