• Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments to develop strategies for mitigating safety risks in the workplace.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, standards, and procedures that comply with local, national, and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA).
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents. Determine root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct safety training programs and workshops for employees and contractors to promote a strong safety culture and awareness.
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and conduct regular drills.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate safety considerations into product and system design (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP, safety factor analysis).
• Ensure compliance with government safety regulations and standards, and maintain required documentation and reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements to safety systems and processes using root cause analysis and industry best practices.
