Job Description

The Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety by designing and implementing safety systems, monitoring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines, identifying potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for various processes, equipment, and facilities. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine causes and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports on safety performance, incidents, and non-compliance, and maintain accurate records. Coordinate with other departments to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations. Promote safe practices and lead training sessions for employees on health and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and other applicable safety standards. Collaborate with project teams during planning and execution phases to integrate safety considerations. Liaise with external agencies and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial) or Safety Management. Certification in industrial safety or occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in safety audit tools, reporting software, and MS Office Suite.
