Risk Manager

As a Risk Manager at Springer Nature Group, you will work within a small team to enhance processes and maintain standards suitable for a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Your role will involve identifying, analyzing, describing, and estimating the risks affecting the business. Key responsibilities include: - Recording risks in our global system (Workiva/WDesk) - Evaluating risk capacity by comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements, and environmental factors - Advising and assessing performance against the organization's "risk appetite" - Reporting appropriately to different audiences, such as senior managers, functional heads, business heads, and individual risk owners You will also contribute to external risk reporting to stakeholders, review risk policies regularly to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, participate in audits of policy and compliance to standards, and provide support, education, and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong demonstrable experience in risk management for a large company or consulting in risk management. It is essential to possess the ability to generate and deliver concise, timely reports to stakeholders, including those in senior positions. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required, along with a strong work ethic and the creative ability to achieve identified goals individually and as a team player in a global function. Anticipating issues and opportunities, responding with appropriate, risk-aware, and cost-driven solutions, and being a structured problem solver are key qualities for this role. Additionally, you should use analytical skills to identify trends and themes regarding ethics & compliance risks from various data sources and take necessary action to address them. Strong personal time management skills, a university degree, and/or a professional qualification are essential. Accountancy or audit qualifications would be advantageous, and German language skills are a plus.,
