Restaurant Captain

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Captain is responsible for overseeing the dining area, managing waitstaff, and ensuring that guests receive high-quality service. They act as the bridge between the front-of-house team and management, upholding standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of waitstaff and support staff during service.
• Ensure timely and high-quality service to all guests.
• Assist in taking and serving orders, especially during peak hours.
• Maintain cleanliness and ambiance of the dining area.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and assign daily duties to team members.
• Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Monitor inventory of food, beverages, and supplies in the dining area.
• Train and mentor junior staff to maintain service quality.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate with kitchen and management teams.
• Ensure billing and payment processes are accurate and smooth.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain, Senior Waiter, or similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations and safety regulations.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certification preferred.
