Research Associate

As a Construction Material Specialist, your role will involve collecting data and meeting with vendors to source materials for construction projects. You will be responsible for gathering information from secondary sources to prepare detailed specifications, reviewing IS Codes and CPWD specifications, and arranging meetings with vendors to understand the materials required. Additionally, you will prepare drafts of detailed specifications, conduct a detailed study of materials, and work on subsequent project activities. Key Responsibilities: - Collect data and meet vendors for different construction materials - Gather information from secondary sources for specification preparation - Review IS Codes and CPWD specifications for assigned sections - Arrange meetings with vendors to understand materials - Prepare drafts of detailed specifications and item specifications - Study conditions of the contract for project phases II and III - Follow up with experts for feedback - Perform any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Acting Center Head, CoE-INFRA Qualifications Required: - M. Tech/Masters in Construction Engineering Management - B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering - 0-2 years of experience in tender preparation, specification writing, and on-site construction activities preferred - Proficiency in MS-Office applications - Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and proactive approach - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and Gujarati - Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and teamwork - Strong time management and coordination skills - Ability to adapt to process changes and be comfortable - Accountability to the Project Manager, CoE-INFRA The outcomes of your work will include preparing draft chapters based on collected data, working on multiple chapters simultaneously, and engaging in parallel activities for projects such as vendor data collection. Measures of success will be based on the timeliness of your work and the delivery of error-free, good-quality output. Please note that the position is based in Ahmedabad, and only one position is available with remuneration as per industry standards.,
