Job Summary:

As the R&D Lead, you will spearhead research and development efforts to create and improve machinery, tools, and chemical processes used in jewelry manufacturing. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical and chemical engineering, hands-on leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to bring innovative products from concept to market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead R&D initiatives focused on developing advanced machinery, tools, and chemical formulations for jewelry manufacturing, including casting, refining, polishing, cleaning, plating, and related processes.
• Oversee the design, prototyping, testing, and refinement of new jewelry-making machines and equipment.
• Develop and optimize chemical processes for metal refining, surface finishing, and treatment to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, marketing, and quality assurance teams to align innovations with customer and market needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant new materials and methods into the company’s product lines.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, chemists, and technicians to achieve project goals.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, patents, and support regulatory submissions when required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
• 8 to 15 years of proven R&D experience, preferably within jewelry manufacturing or precision machinery/chemical industries.
• Strong expertise in product development, prototyping, and process engineering.
• Knowledge of precious metal properties and specialized chemical processes used in the jewelry sector is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and lab-scale testing equipment is essential.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment.
