Job Title: Repair Engineer – Set-Top Box Manufacturing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Engineer to handle troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of defective Set-Top Boxes (STB). The candidate will ensure timely rework, minimize rejection rates, and support continuous improvement in product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose hardware and software faults in set-top boxes.
• Repair PCBs, components, and circuit-level faults using soldering, desoldering, and rework stations.
• Perform root cause analysis of failures and provide feedback to Quality/Production teams.
• Maintain repair logs, failure data, and prepare daily/weekly reports.
• Collaborate with Design/Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Support in training repair/rework technicians for handling common issues.
• Ensure adherence to ESD and safety standards during repair operations.
• Monitor and improve repair turnaround time and reduce repetitive failures.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electronics components, circuits, and PCB-level troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with soldering, BGA rework, and testing equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Familiarity with STB technology, microcontrollers, and embedded systems (preferred).
• Ability to analyze recurring issues and propose design/process improvements.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in repair/rework of electronics products (preferably set-top box / consumer electronics).
• Knowledge of IPC standards for soldering and repair (preferred).
