The position represents all areas of Regulatory Compliance subject matters in India, actively liaising with Senior Management in India, the Global Regulatory Compliance team, the Regional Regulatory Compliance team and the APJ Legal team. The constantly changing framework of regulations means that the successful applicant must be nimble and efficient and able to manage maintenance of existing program of control alongside development of new different controls; supporting the commercial teams and maintaining corporate standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Establish and maintain robust compliance frameworks for import, export, and export control across all TD SYNNEX activities in India. Represent regulatory compliance matters in India Senior Management and Legal forums as well as in meetings and communications with relevant Indian authorities. Collaborate with and support Regional Head of Regulatory Compliance.
Import Compliance: Oversee import compliance in India, coordinating closely with the Global Director of Import Compliance and Regional resources coordinating on policy, procedures. Develop and implement import license management, duty deferral and mitigation programs to minimize tariff exposure.
Export Licensing: Support the Global Director of Export Licensing to ensure all transactions comply with U.S. re-export and India country-specific export licensing requirements.
Environmental Compliance: Supports Global Director of Environmental Product Compliance, i.e., packaging, WEEE etc., for India. Teams with our India business partners to manage environmental fee payments and recovery (customers) as required by country regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Direct self-assessments to ensure the accuracy of regulatory declarations e.g. import valuations, classifications, and other regulatory requirements. Develop remediation plans to address any findings.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Experience in the high-tech industry and working with India Customs Compliance is essential. Knowledge and experience of India Government affairs strongly preferred.
Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Indian import-export regulations and compliance laws. Proven ability to work collaboratively with regulators and business partners. Good understanding of transactional trade issues e.g. DPL, strategic goods controls, know your customer etc. Ability to prioritise and to manage short term exigencies as well as create strong strategic paths. Skilled in determining and identifying positive systematic improvements that meet both Regulatory and Commercial objectives and then creating suitable conditions for their establishment. Knowledge of and expertise in these areas as applicable to other countries in the Region is desirable.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with a track record of making impactful decisions and driving change. Experience working in a US multi national corporation in the IT industry would be beneficial. Ability to influence senior executives and obtain buy in for strategic development.
