Job Description

Primary FunctionLead the implementation of enterprise cybersecurity programs in India, ensuring alignment with global strategy and compliance with local regulations. Act as the primary cybersecurity liaison for India operations.This role will work directly and collaboratively with Enterprise Cyber Security and IT functions, local IT teams and local business partners.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Align India business cybersecurity posture with global enterprise strategy.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for cybersecurity matters in India.
    • Lead cybersecurity integration for acquisitions and new business units.
    • Represent Abbott’s position on cybersecurity in approved external industry forums
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations impacting India.
    • Liaise with CERT-In for incident reporting and regulatory coordination.
    • Oversee implementation of cybersecurity certifications and regulatory directives.
    • Maintain awareness of evolving Indian cyber laws and propose policy updates.
  • Risk Management –
    • Conduct regular cyber risk assessments tailored to India’s threat landscape.
    • Report risk posture to enterprise and local leadership.
    • Oversee implementation of controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Incident Response (IR) –
    • Act as the in-country liaison during cybersecurity incidents
    • assist with coordination and response to cyber security incidents through collaboration with the global Cyber Incident Response team and local authorities (e.g., CERT-In).
  • Education & Awareness
  • Develop and deliver localized cybersecurity training programs to improve resilience of individuals
  • Collaborate with global teams to tailor content for Indian employees and contractors.
  • Management and Operational leadership
    • Provide oversight to in-country cybersecurity staff with direct or dotted line relationships to the role to support effective delivery of global cybersecurity services
    • Develop and mentor staff

Education And Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience directly related to the area of threat and vulnerability management, web application security, penetration testing or cyber threat intelligence
  • Experience with large / matrixed environments like Abbott
  • 3+ years with vulnerability scanners like Nucleus, Qualys
  • Applicable cybersecurity certifications (CISSP preferred)
