The 5 bed ICU is adjacent to the ED providing easy access for consults. The hospital accepts transfers from across the Northwest region. We have excellent relationships with our colleagues including Anaesthesia, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Psychiatry, Pathology, Radiology, Pediatrics and Family Medicine. Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients in November 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, it is a center for trauma services, acute care, surgical services pathology, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services for the Northwest region. The KRH Emergency Department has double coverage between 8am and midnight. The day is divided into 4 shifts, two 8am to 5pm shifts and two 5pm to midnight shifts. Overnight shifts are single coverage from midnight to 8am. Full time employment is approximately 12-14 shifts per month. Role and Facility Information We are seeking a skilled and compassionate GP Anesthetist to join our dynamic team in Terrace, BC. As a key member of our Medical Staff, you would be providing essential care to a catchment area of approximately 86,000 people. Ksyen Regional Hospital has 4 operating rooms and currently provides the following surgical services: General Surgery Obstetrics and Gynecology Otolaryngology (visiting) Ophthalmology Plastic Surgery Dental Surgery Urology (visiting) Orthopaedic Surgery (with a dedicated OR suite) We offer a competitive compensation package and a supportive work environment dedicated to professional growth and development Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients in November 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, it is a center for trauma services, acute care, surgical services pathology, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services for the Northwest region. The hospital staff prides itself on delivering culturally safe care to our Indigenous populations. 42 Acute Care Beds 20 bed Psychiatry unit 4 surgical suites, including a dedicated Orthopedics OR 6 ICU Beds, with potential to expand to 8 20 Bed Emergency Department with 2 Trauma Bays Large Ambulatory Care Unit Community Cancer clinic Hemodialysis Unit Pediatric Care Space MRI, CT, and Nuclear Medicine services The new hospital will also include a Tier 3 neonatal intensive care unit and special care nursery, which will provide community-based antenatal and postnatal services, education and parenting support to pregnant individuals. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program and residents through the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.
