Job Description

We operate in the quantum computing research & development sector, focusing on scalable, fault-tolerant quantum systems and error-mitigation technologies for near-term and future quantum hardware. The role sits at the intersection of theoretical QEC, numerical simulation, and close collaboration with hardware teams to translate algorithms into implementable error-correction schemes.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze quantum error-correcting codes (stabilizer, surface, color, concatenated) and evaluate fault-tolerance thresholds under realistic noise models.
  • Develop and benchmark syndrome decoding algorithms and fast decoders for near-term hardware; integrate ML-enhanced decoders when beneficial.
  • Build high-fidelity numerical simulation pipelines (open/closed-system dynamics) to assess logical error rates, leakage, and cross-talk for targeted qubit platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware and control engineers to map QEC schemes to device constraints, propose calibration/mitigation strategies, and validate on testbeds.
  • Author rigorous technical reports, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and present findings to internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Contribute to roadmaps for scalable fault-tolerant architectures, advising on trade-offs between overhead, latency, and hardware requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • PhD or MS with 3+ years research experience in quantum information, quantum error correction, or closely related fields.
  • Strong theoretical grounding in stabilizer formalism, fault-tolerance theory, and statistical noise models.
  • Proven numerical skills: Python/Julia and scientific libraries; experience with QuTiP/Qiskit/Cirq or equivalent simulation frameworks.
  • Track record of independent research: publications, technical reports, or demonstrated project deliverables in QEC or quantum algorithms.

Preferred

  • Experience with hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, trapped ions) and translating protocols to experimental constraints.
  • Background in high-performance computing, C++ or optimized code for large-scale simulations and decoder implementations.

Benefits & Culture Highlights

  • Collaborative R&D environment bridging theory, simulation, and hardware teams—fast path from idea to experiment.
  • Opportunities to publish and present at international conferences and contribute to open-source QEC tools.
  • On-site, hands-on role offering deep mentorship and ownership of core QEC initiatives
