Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Take-off & BOQ Management

  • Lead and review

    MEP quantity take-offs

    (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, ELV, Firefighting).
  • Prepare, verify, and update

    BOQs

    based on drawings, specifications, and IFC revisions.
  • Coordinate with design, planning, and engineering teams to validate quantities.

2. Estimation & Costing

  • Prepare detailed

    MEP cost estimates

    , including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor analysis.
  • Support tendering teams in pricing, cost breakdown, and technical clarifications.
  • Analyze market rates, supplier quotations, and rate build-ups.

3. Contract & Commercial Management

  • Review MEP clauses in contracts, tender documents, and technical specifications.
  • Support commercial team in claim preparation, variations, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, scope definitions, and project budgets.

4. Project Coordination

  • Liaise with site execution teams for

    quantity verification

    , DPR validation, and work measurement.
  • Track material consumption vs. BOQ to identify deviations and cost impacts.
  • Attend project review meetings and provide quantity/cost insights.

5. Billing & Documentation

  • Lead preparation of

    client and subcontractor bills

    for all MEP works.
  • Review subcontractor invoices and certify quantities as per agreements.
  • Maintain systematic documentation: MEP measurements, material logs, reconciliation sheets, and variation records.

6. Change Management

  • Identify scope changes and prepare

    variation orders

    with proper justification and cost impact reports.
  • Support negotiations with clients and subcontractors for VO settlements.

7. Cost Control & Reporting

  • Work closely with planning and finance teams to track cost vs. budget.
  • Provide monthly MIS reports on MEP quantities, cost variances, and billing status.
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in

    MEP quantity take-off, estimation, and BOQ management

    .
  • Familiarity with

    EPC project workflows

    and contract management.
  • Proficiency in

    AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project/Primavera

    , and QS/estimation software.
  • Solid analytical, negotiation, and documentation abilities.
  • Good knowledge of

    IS standards, NBC codes

    , and industry best practices.
  • Leadership ability to manage QS teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary departments.

Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    (preferred)
  • Diploma holders with strong field experience may also be considered.
