Our team combines expertise from science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and game theory to develop data-driven systematic investment strategies that address inefficiencies in electronic markets. We are seeking a recent STEM masters graduates to enroll in our unpaid Quantitative Research and Development initiative, designed for individuals with a strong foundation in mathematics, computer science, and DeFi. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative blockchain-based solutions in the world of quantitative finance. This role is ideal for someone passionate about applying complex algorithms and quantitative models to real-world blockchain applications. As part of our team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in decentralized finance (DeFi), algorithmic trading, and blockchain development, working alongside experts in the field to push the boundaries of financial innovation. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement quantitative models and algorithms focused on addressing inefficiencies in finance and economics, specifically in the DeFi space. Work with smart contracts and blockchain technology to implement production-grade quantitative models and algorithms that optimize capital efficiency and reduce risk. Collaborate with the team to develop open-source DeFi models that introduce new approaches to traditional economic theories and enhance financial systems using blockchain. Apply mathematical and computational techniques (such as algorithmic game theory, and mathematical models) to design smart contract-based systems that address market inefficiencies and create new opportunities for yield generation. Analyse and develop algorithms to improve smart contract functionality, liquidity management, and credit risk models. Participate in STEM research to understand current market inefficiencies, and design algorithms that adapt to and resolve these inefficiencies in real-time. Contribute to cross-functional teams to build scalable DeFi protocols, ensure robust system architecture, and integrate the latest quantitative finance models into smart contract platforms. Qualifications: We’re looking for candidates with a strong background in mathematics, particularly in quantitative finance and financial engineering. Ideal applicants should be comfortable building from first principles and possess a minimum of a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field such as mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering. Must Have Python Experience Over 3 years. Please do not apply if you do not have deep computer science experience in some form. Solid understanding of blockchain technology, specifically in DeFi protocols such as Uniswap, Aave, ethena and Compound. Experience working with foundry framework, smart contracts and understanding their deployment, functionality, and optimization. Experience with algorithmic trading, market-making, and liquidity management in the context of decentralized finance. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply complex quantitative methods to real-world blockchain applications.
