Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Strategy and Implementation:

• Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the quality of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.

Quality Control Management:

• Establish quality control measures and procedures for each stage of the production process.
• Implement testing protocols and quality checkpoints to monitor product quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Oversee the training of quality control personnel and provide guidance on quality testing methods and equipment usage.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier performance and ensure the quality of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
• Monitor the work of all laboratories and collate and communicate the testing report summary to management.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay informed about relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in quality assurance and food safety.
• Ensure that all quality-related activities comply with applicable regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO certifications.

Customer Interaction and Issue Resolution:

• Interact with customers to understand and address quality issues, including complaints and feedback.
• Lead the investigation of customer complaints, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address them.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement CAPA and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
• Visit brewing units or central laboratories of customers to understand process deviations and resolve quality issues effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.
• Implement best practices and quality improvement projects to optimize processes and enhance product quality.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare reports on customer interactions, quality issues, CAPA, and resolution status for management review.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality-related activities, including audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all quality-related documentation requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control roles within the FMCG and/ or Alco-Beverage manufacturing industry.
• Extensive knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Must Have:

• Minimum of 10 years of brewing experience.
• Experience in Malt Extract and malted food is an added advantage.
