Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Process Assurance Leader with over a decade of experience in driving Process Management, External Audits/Assessments, and end-to-end PA strategy in automotive embedded software.
As a Process Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the quality vision, strategy, and governance for automotive software programs. The role demands strong expertise in automotive quality standards, process maturity models, and frameworks such as ISO 9001:2015 and CMMI, with familiarity in ASPICE and ISO 26262; knowledge of IATF 16949 is an added advantage. You will ensure that process assurance practices are embedded across the SW Development Life-cycle (SDLC), enabling compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define long-term QA vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Drive compliance with ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) for process capability, ISO 26262 for functional safety, IATF 16949/ISO 9001 for automotive and organizational quality management.
- Align quality framework with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) for process improvement and maturity appraisals.
- Supervise the planning, coordination, and execution of internal audits, supplier audits, ASPICE/CMMI assessments, and ISO compliance checks. Ensure timely closure of NCs (Non-Conformities) and effective root-cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Define quality objectives, OKRs, and KPIs at project level based on PPB Analysis.
- Establish process compliance and product quality metrics (defect density, rework rate, code quality, review effectiveness, etc).
- Support teams in achieving Business objectives through proactive coaching and corrective interventions.
- Provide leadership in defining, deploying, and maintaining QMS processes, templates, and checklists for software development, testing, integration, and release.
- Act as a process coach, conducting training sessions and workshops to strengthen quality mindset and compliance awareness.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to CARIAD standards, OEM-specific requirements, and safety/security regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor SDLC metrics (coverage, defect leakage, test effectiveness, release readiness, etc ).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging CMMI s maturity levels and automotive industry benchmarks.
- Lead initiatives for process automation, toolchain integration, and defect prevention.
- Design and maintain quality dashboards using Power BI or advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros) for leadership visibility.
- Provide transparent reporting to senior management and customers on process performance, quality risks, and improvement actions.
- Represent QA in customer audits, OEM/Supplier quality discussions, and leadership forums.
- Ensure proactive communication of quality risks, compliance gaps, and mitigation strategies.
- Mentor, guide, and manage QA engineers and auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and process discipline.
- Lead CMMI appraisal implementation (Benchmark Appraisals) across the organization. Map automotive processes with CMMI process areas (e.g., RD, PP, PMC, MA, OPF, PPQA) to ensure sustained process maturity and performance improvement.
