Quality Inspector

Job Title: QC Inspector Industry: Copper Alloy Manufacturing Location: Bhunava Experience: 1–5 Years (as per requirement) Job Role & Responsibilities:1. Raw Material Inspection Inspect copper, brass, bronze, and alloy ingots/billets before production. Verify chemical composition as per material test certificates (MTC). Ensure suppliers follow alloy grade standards (e.g., PB1, AB2, LM25, etc.). 2. In-Process Quality Control Check casting, extrusion, rolling, or forging quality during production. Monitor melting temperature, furnace parameters, and process controls. Ensure dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish meet specifications. Take in-process samples for chemical & mechanical testing. 3. Final Product Inspection Inspect finished components such as rods, bars, tubes, castings, or forged parts. Conduct visual inspection, hardness tests, microstructure checks, and dimensional checks. Approve/reject items based on QC standards and customer requirements. 4. Testing & Documentation Perform tests: hardness, chemical analysis, tensile testing, micro Vickers, etc. Prepare inspection reports, testing logs, and quality certificates. Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments. 5. Defect Identification & Analysis Identify defects such as porosity, cracks, inclusions, improper alloy mix, pinholes, shrinkage, and surface defects. Work with production team to implement corrective actions. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for frequent quality issues. 6. Quality System Compliance Follow ISO standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 if applicable). Ensure adherence to company SOPs and customer specifications. Participate in internal and external quality audits. 7. Communication & Coordination Coordinate with production, foundry, machining, and dispatch teams. Provide daily QC updates to senior engineers or QA managers. Support customer inspections and third-party audits. Skills Required:Knowledge of copper, brass, bronze, aluminium bronze alloys. Understanding of casting/extrusion/rolling processes. Experience with measuring instruments: Vernier, micrometer, hardness tester, spectrometer. Strong documentation and reporting skills.
