Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

Quality Engineer

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement

    Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC)

    procedures for heavy fabrication projects.
  • Conduct inspection of raw materials, welding, machining, painting, assembly, and final fit-up.
  • Review and ensure compliance with

    ASME, AWS, ISO, EN, DIN, IBR, and client specifications

    .
  • Perform

    NDT inspections

    (UT, RT, MT, PT) as per project requirements.
  • Monitor and validate fabrication processes of cranes, transporters, hoists, and specialized attachments.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, load-testing, torque checks, and functional trials of MHS equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain

    Inspection Test Plans (ITP)

    , Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Quality Reports.
  • Coordinate with design, production, and client inspection teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis & corrective action for non-conformities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with

    EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)

    protocols in quality processes.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Fabrication / Production Engineering.

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience

    in quality control within

    Heavy Fabrication / MHS / EPC / Shipyard / Crane Manufacturing

    industries.
  • Hands-on knowledge of:
  • Welding standards (ASME IX, AWS D1.1, EN ISO 15614).

  • NDT techniques

    and certification (Level II in UT/RT/MT/PT preferred).
  • Heavy structure fabrication & machining tolerances.

  • Painting & corrosion protection systems.

  • Strong understanding of

    ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001

    .
  • Proficiency in reading

    engineering drawings, fabrication GA drawings, and weld maps

    .
  • Exposure to

    hydraulic systems, load testing, and commissioning of cranes/transporters

    is desirable.
