QC Inspector (Welding)

Job Summary:

The QC Inspector – Welder is responsible for ensuring all welding activities meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The role involves inspecting, monitoring, and verifying welding operations, conducting NDT coordination, and maintaining documentation to ensure quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and verify all welding activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes, and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
• Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
• Conduct visual inspection of weld joints before, during, and after welding.
• Coordinate with NDT technicians and review test results (RT, UT, MT, PT).
• Ensure proper use of approved welding consumables, equipment, and parameters.
• Monitor welder performance and report any non-conformities.
• Prepare and maintain all QC inspection reports, logs, and quality documentation.
• Participate in quality audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure all welds meet client and third-party inspection requirements.
• Support QA/QC team in developing and updating quality plans and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Welding / QC Inspector in construction, fabrication, oil & gas, or related industries.
• Saudi Aramco Approval Prioritized
• CBT Certification Mandatory
• Certified in CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI (preferred).
• Good knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, MIG, FCAW).
• Familiar with material traceability, NDT methods, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
