Job Title: QA – Automation Intern (Fresher/Intern)

Role Overview

We’re seeking enthusiastic freshers or interns eager to build their careers in QA Automation. The role involves testing web and mobile applications, writing and maintaining automation scripts, integrating tests into CI pipelines, validating backend data, and reporting defects. You will receive mentorship-driven learning and hands-on experience in real-world projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Understanding Requirements

• Analyze and understand business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements.

2. Test Planning and Strategy

• Develop detailed test plans, scenarios, and cases following SDLC and STLC processes.
• Define testing scope, objectives, and priorities for each sprint or release.
• Identify and prepare necessary test data and environments.

3. Manual Testing

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Detect, log, and track defects accurately using bug-tracking tools.
• Re-test and verify fixes to ensure product quality and stability.

4. Automation Testing

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver (Java/Python).
• Maintain and update automation frameworks aligned with project changes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).

5. API Testing

• Validate REST APIs using Postman or REST-Assured.
• Verify request/response structure, status codes, and backend data integrity.
• Document and communicate API test results clearly to developers.

6. Database Testing

• Write and execute SQL queries to verify backend data consistency and accuracy.
• Validate data flow between application layers.

7. Reporting & Quality Assurance

• Document test results, defects, and quality metrics.
• Provide daily or weekly QA status reports to the team.
• Participate in sprint reviews and suggest improvements in QA processes.

8. Continuous Learning

• Stay updated on automation trends, frameworks, and best practices.
• Explore new tools to improve test coverage and efficiency.

Skills & Tools Required

Technical Skills

• Automation Tools: Hands-on with Selenium (Web UI), basic knowledge of Appium (mobile).
• Programming: Java or Python; ability to write loops, functions, and page-object models.
• API Testing: Familiar with Postman; REST-Assured is a plus.
• Database Testing: SQL knowledge to validate backend data.
• CI/CD Basics: Exposure to Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Version Control: Git (commit, push, pull, branching).
• Testing Knowledge: Understanding of Manual Testing, SDLC, STLC, and bug life cycle.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Eligibility

• Recent graduates or final-year students in B.Tech / B.E / B.Sc / BCA or equivalent.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
• Willing to commit to a 2-year bond post-selection.
• Must be available for on-site work at OMR, Chennai.
