Purchasing Agent

As a Purchasing Agent, your primary responsibility will be to source and procure goods and services for the organization. You will be in charge of managing relationships with suppliers and ensuring the timely delivery of quality products at the best possible price. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards within the organization. Your key responsibilities will include: - Sourcing and Procurement: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and placing purchase orders. - Supplier Management: Maintaining relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance, and ensuring compliance with contracts. - Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating with other departments to ensure adequate stock levels. - Cost Management: Analyzing purchase prices, negotiating favorable terms, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. - Quality Control: Ensuring that purchased goods and services meet the required quality standards and specifications. - Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. - Reporting: Preparing reports on purchasing activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels. To excel in this role, you will need the following essential skills: - Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. - Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions about purchasing. - Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and other departments. - Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in using purchasing software, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools. - Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial principles and the ability to analyze financial reports. Ideally, you should possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is often preferred. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule and the opportunity for a performance bonus.
