Purchase Officer

Role & responsibilities

The Purchase Officer will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities for the manufacturing plant, ensuring timely sourcing of engineering, maintenance, and production materials. The role demands strong negotiation skills, vendor management expertise, and a solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and supply chain operations.

• Manage day-to-day purchasing operations for plant materials, engineering spares, consumables, and services.
  
• Identify and qualify new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
  
• Negotiate price, delivery schedules, and payment terms to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  
• Coordinate with the Production, Engineering, Quality, and Stores teams to ensure material availability as per production requirements.
  
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain vendor evaluation reports.
  
• Ensure compliance with pharma regulatory and quality standards during procurement.
  
• Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and related documentation.
  
• Support audits and maintain accurate procurement records.
  
• Collaborate with finance and logistics for payment follow-ups and delivery tracking.
  
• Continuously analyze market trends to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
